Gouach is a French Tech prizewinner of Green20!
French battery manufacturer, Gouach, has joined the Green 20 programme for building electric repairable batteries for micro-mobility. Proposed by French Tech in partnership with the French Ministry of Ecological Transition, this programme aims to reward innovative and promising start-ups in favour of ecological transition.
Supported by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition, the Greentech innovation programme aims to showcase new technological champions in the field of ecology. It is selective and rewards 20 start-ups proposing breakthrough innovations, with the capacity for large-scale development. Each one is based in France, highly distinct from existing solutions, and operates in a market with very high-potential. The 20 selected start-ups will receive support from the French government.
Gouach joins the Green20 programme for their repairable batteries
In response to a prevailing challenge of the decade, Gouach ticks all the boxes. They are dedicated to micro-mobility, and are using their repairable battery to oppose programmed obsolescence in the industry. Their design can be disassembled in less than 10 minutes, allowing for easy cell replacement, and the possibility of using second life cells. Gouach batteries are connected, and signal when they need to be repaired, allowing for efficient maintenance. They are just as powerful as conventional batteries but initiate a circular economy and encourage the opportunity of a second-life. From an ecological perspective, they reduce the environmental impact of batteries by 70%.
"We are proud to be one of the French start-ups to join the Green20 programme. Gouach batteries are taking on a tough economic and ecological challenge. Having the support of the French Tech programme will allow us to increase our visibility and validate Gouach’s position in an important future market: micro-mobility batteries." - Alexandre Vallette, CEO Gouach
